Monarch budyabudya

Monarch budyabudya is a 2 metre floating art piece cut out from card with mixed media.

The word budyabudya means butterfly or moth in the wiradjuri language. The word Monarch means a sovereign head of state, espeically a king or queen.

This is art piece is a strengthening of the WE ARE message, "We are First Nations people, Stolen Ones, Displaced, Resilient fighters, Strong, Proud, We aren't the Jewel in your Crown. We are the ones who stood here first."  Monarch budyabudyas (butterflies and moths) smother the words of this poem as first nations budya budya's (black) and the skeleton budyabudyas (white) flutter around the wording.
